Support for your independence
You may manage most things yourself and want help with a few jobs. A family member might live some distance away, or your usual support may be unavailable. We can talk through the tasks you would like assistance with and arrange care around the parts of your week that need it.
You remain involved in decisions about your home and routines. We ask what you want to keep doing yourself and where a carer can help, so the arrangement supports your choices.
What help at home can include
Let us know which jobs are becoming difficult and what a typical day looks like. We will discuss the assistance involved, the visit times and any transport arrangements before care starts.
- Preparing meals and helping with the kitchen tasks involved.
- Shopping for groceries and collecting everyday essentials.
- Light housekeeping, laundry and changing bed linen.
- Help with errands and getting to appointments.
- Companionship, conversation and shared activities.
- Support to keep attending social outings and familiar activities.
Company and support to get out
Help at home can also include spending time with someone or getting out to places you enjoy. That might be a local outing, a visit with friends or assistance attending an appointment.
We discuss what you would like to do, the support needed to get there and how it fits into the visit. Carer matching takes your interests and personality into account, as well as the practical assistance you need.
Occasional help or a regular arrangement
Some people want support while their usual carer is away. Others prefer a regular visit that helps them keep on top of the week. We can discuss short-term assistance and ongoing care, with the schedule agreed around your needs and carer availability.
Support can also give family carers time for work, appointments or a break. If your needs change, contact us to review the tasks and hours involved.
When you also need personal care
If you need help with showering, dressing, toileting or moving around at home, tell us when you enquire. Personal care can be included in your overall arrangement, with the right experience and time allowed for each task.
We also provide support for people living with dementia, returning home after hospital or needing palliative care. Explore our home care services or talk with us about the assistance that would suit your situation.
Choosing someone you feel comfortable with
Having a new person in your home is a personal decision. We consider experience, personality and cultural or religious preferences when matching a carer, and we ask for feedback as the arrangement develops.
Our carers undergo reference and police checks and are covered by insurance. If a match is not right for you, we can discuss an alternative.

Keeping families informed and involved
Good care does not happen in isolation. With your agreement, we stay in regular contact with family and let them know about any changes we notice in day to day wellbeing, mobility or routine.
If we think some extra help would make life easier, or that a small change at home would help someone stay safe, we will say so. That might mean suggesting a handrail, a walker, a commode or another simple aid, or talking through whether a home modification is worth considering. Our aim is to keep communication open and to work alongside families, not around them.
Domestic assistance that fits your routine
Household jobs can build up when your energy or mobility changes. A carer can help with the lighter tasks involved in keeping your home comfortable, such as preparing lunch, putting on a wash or changing the sheets.
We agree on priorities with you. You might want to cook together, leave the meal preparation to your carer, or have help with the shopping so you can continue cooking yourself. Tell us how you prefer things done.
Private home care costs
Fees depend on the help required and the agreed hours. We talk through the tasks, schedule and costs with you before care begins, so you know what the arrangement includes.
There are no administration fees, exit fees or long-term lock-in contracts. A notice period applies under your service agreement.
Help at home across Sydney
We support people across Sydney City, the Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches and Eastern Suburbs. Tell us your suburb and preferred visit times so we can confirm availability.
What Our Clients Say
With wishing to find the same good people
We engaged the services of Young at Heart over a year ago to provide companionship and security for my husband, while giving me peace of mind while I am out. We have been completely satisfied and delighted at the care and company he receives. They very quickly established a warm and pleasant friendship and he looks forward to seeing her each week.
She is a charming, friendly person, cheerful, punctual, reliable and immaculate in her presentation. Her visits give me a break and offer him a change of pace. Working with Young at Heart ensures that should our regular helper be away we will not be left in the lurch, but will always have an experienced person in her place. I heartily recommend this service as highly professional and easy to deal with.
Not only does Maria care for her Clients but she also cares about her Staff.
It is so rewarding to work as a valued and respected member of Staff, where your skills are really appreciated.

Questions about help at home
Yes. You can discuss the specific tasks you want help with, whether that is meals, shopping or another part of your routine. We will confirm the suitable visit length, frequency and fees before you decide.
Most of our clients are older people, but we support adults aged 18 and over. This can include people living with disability or needing temporary help after illness, an injury or a hospital stay.
Yes. Family members can contact us to discuss support. We involve the person receiving care in decisions and take their wishes into account when agreeing on the arrangement.
No. Independent living support is practical, one-on-one assistance with everyday life, not a type of accommodation. It comes to you wherever you call home, so you can carry on living where you are. And because our help follows the person rather than the place, we can also support someone already living in an aged care facility who would like more companionship, outings or individual attention than the staff are able to provide. Contact us to discuss the support that would suit your situation.
Yes. We can discuss additional help alongside another provider. Tell us what support you already receive and where you would like more assistance, so the arrangements fit together.
